ABOUT

nestled in the mountains and off the beaten path

Our vision of a laid back, outdoorsy environment to enjoy craft cocktails, craft beer, wine and signature small plates has come to life. No matter the season, whether you're coming by car, bike, snowmobile or on foot - we are so glad you're here!

Local and family owned, our quality time together has always been centered around good food. We believe life is meant to be celebrated each and every day, and there's always a reason for a little bubbly.

We love this land and our roots are planted deep here. We set out on a mission to honor the countless memories made within these walls. When we were presented the opportunity to revitalize and protect it, we knew we had to do just that. Our passion for the history of this building has been the driving force behind our mission to keep the good times rolling for our community in this small corner of MD.

SOME HISTORY OF PAWN RUN BAR

locally owned

In 1958, this establishment was built by the Tasker family and named Tasker's Tavern. This was also a place children stopped by for soda and candy.

In 1968, the tavern was sold to the Bowman family.  This family expanded the building and continued to operate the business as a tavern for 14 years. There was also a one bedroom, one bathroom cabin added to the property around this time.

In March of 1982, the tavern was sold to "Les" Bittinger. He renamed the establishment The Pawn Run Saloon. During this time it was a popular destination for locals and tourists. Pawn Run became known as a great place to enjoy steak dinners and grab a few drinks with friends. Les passed away in 1999, at which time the bar was left to his wife Jeanette who continued to run the saloon with Charles Rogers for several years until she passed away.

In August 2006, the Foster family purchased the estate. The establishment under their ownership continued the steak dinner tradition. The environment was always welcoming and friendly. You were always greeted with a big smile and made to feel right at home.

Pawn Run surely had one of the earliest licenses for beer on the lake and to this day is known as a unique watering hole serving good food and drink.

Before and After

We love this land and our roots are planted deep here. We genuinely care for one another and for those around us. We want this to be a welcoming, comfortable place for people to relax and make memories. We put our heart and soul into preserving this unique spot rich in history.
